The activities of research and production enterprises involved in the creation of equipment for the mining industry have a number of significant differences from the activities of similar organizations in other industries. These differences are explained by the specifics of mining and are as follows: high level of complexity of technical systems; increased requirements for quality, reliability and safety; increased requirements for equipment safety; small-scale, and in many cases individual nature of production of high-tech products of varying complexity; organization and maintenance of the full life cycle of products. Based on the analysis of the features and accumulated experience of research and production enterprises, the current areas of further management improvement have been identified as follows: increasing the efficiency of accumulation and use of "human capital";improving the quality of products in small-scale and individual production; establishing strategic links to provide the material base for scientific research and production; improving methods of managing research groups; effective management of intangible assets; forming an enterprise management system based on the achievements of artificial intelligence.
