The relevance of the presented research is due to the fact that the current decade in the world economy is associated with overcoming the global world crisis, the influence of which is manifested in the processes of deglobalization, disintegration, ongoing armed conflicts between states, as well as in the intensification of trade wars between countries. The crisis in question, like any crisis, not only conceals dangers, but also provides new opportunities for development. It is no coincidence that one of the key tasks of anti-crisis management in the economy is the fastest possible overcoming of the crisis and an exit from it with competitive advantages. The period of exit from the crisis of the countries of the world is largely determined by the quality of development of economic growth points. In particular, special (free) economic zones can be considered as such growth points, which predetermined the choice of the research topic. The purpose of the presented study is to develop an algorithm for the formation of an innovative mechanism for increasing the international competitiveness of special economic zones of the Russian Federation. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the fact that, based on the formulated scientific hypothesis of the study, which suggests a new goal-setting for the development of special economic zones of the country as sources of increasing the international competitiveness of the national economy, an algorithm has been developed for the formation of an innovative mechanism for increasing the international competitiveness of special economic zones of the Russian Federation, aimed at: analyzing the problems of developing domestic special economic zones as points of growth in the international competitiveness of the national economy within the framework of the new technological order and identifying potential ways to solve them; substantiating and developing a system of criteria for assessing the international competitiveness of special economic zones; determining a rational option for an innovative mechanism for increasing the international competitiveness of special economic zones of the Russian Federation; analyzing the results of implementing an innovative mechanism for increasing the international competitiveness of special economic zones of the Russian Federation; implementing corrective actions to improve the efficiency of implementing the innovative mechanism for increasing the international competitiveness of special economic zones of the Russian Federation. The practical significance of the obtained research results lies in the possibility of their use in the formation and improvement of programs and projects for the development of special economic zones of the Russian Federation from the standpoint of increasing the international competitiveness of the national economy.
