The article is devoted to the role of the national "Youth and Children" project in the implementation of the UN SDG No. 4, aimed at ensuring universal and high-quality education, as well as equal opportunities for lifelong learning. The mechanisms and tools of the national project aimed at increasing access to education, promoting professional orientation and adaptation of young people, and developing relevant competencies and skills are considered. The conclusion is substantiated that the effective functioning of the national project contributes to the achievement of strategic goals of national policy and international commitments of the Russian Federation in the field of sustainable development.
