The article is devoted to a detailed narratological analysis of the short story "Breathe" by the modern writer Olga Breininger. The main focus is on the study of the features of the narrative structure, the specifics of the narrative and point of view. The article examines how the complex organization of the narrative, including the possible unreliability of the narrator, internal focalization, contributes to the disclosure of one of the principles of auto—fixation - the combination of autobiographical and novel pacts.
