Using comprehensive physico-chemical analysis methods — differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray phase analysis (XRD), and microstructural analysis — as well as measurements of microhardness and density, the nature of interactions in the PbTe–Dy₂Te₃ system was investigated and its phase diagram was constructed. The temperature dependence of electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power (Seebeck coefficient) of the system alloys was studied. It was established that the addition of Dy₂Te₃ to PbTe leads to the formation of solid solutions and alters certain physicochemical properties. Ternary compounds with the compositions Dy₂PbTe₄ and Dy₂Pb₄Te₇ are formed in the system.
