The article is devoted to the strategic vision of business development in the gas industry. The existing problems are identified, primarily related to the provision of supplies. The strategic principles that will help preserve the business, regardless of market volatility in the short term, are outlined: managing the asset portfolio as a whole at significantly lower break-even prices, regardless of actual gas prices; strict financial discipline; emphasis on asset maintenance during investment and operations, etc.
