This article presents a detailed analysis of the combat operations of the 140th Rifle Division (including the 96th Chita Rifle Regiment) of the Red Army during its offensive in Czechoslovakia in January 1945, during the liberation of the country from Nazi occupation. The main idea of the text is to describe the tactics and strategy of the division, its interaction with other units of the Soviet troops, and to assess the significance of these combat operations for the outcome of the Second World War. The article begins with a historical context that mentions the Soviet forces that entered Czechoslovakia in September 1944.
