Хронические депрессии характеризуются не только большой распространённостью, но и значительным уровнем коморбидных психических расстройств, высоким риском самоубийства, частыми госпитализациями, существенным снижением качества жизни и социального функционирования, высокими экономическими затратами. Приведён современный взгляд на особенности клинико-психопатологической структуры и течения хронических депрессий, представлена их современная классификация. Проанализированы факторы, определяющие хроническое течение депрессивного расстройства.
