В статье дана характеристика категории «инновационная деятельность в сфере образования», обозначена ее роль в национальной экономике, исследованы основные типы инноваций в российских вузах. Проведен анализ особенностей текущего этапа инновационного развития высшей школы. Выявлены современные тенденции внедрения и продвижения инноваций в российских вузах.

The article describes the category of "innovation in education", its role in the national economy, the main types of innovation in Russian universities. The analysis of the features of the current stage of innovative development of higher education is carried out. The modern trends of introduction and promotion of innovations in Russian universities are revealed.
