The main directions of physical medicine at the present time are: therapeutic (physical therapy proper), rehabilitation, preventive. Physiotherapy is widely used to treat subacute and chronic diseases, as well as to a lesser extent in the acute stage. In recent years, physiotherapy methods such as intraorgan, resonance and bio-guided have been used in emergency situations and even in cancer patients. Physiotherapy has many advantages: versatility, physiology, normalizing effect, training effect, stimulation of compensatory processes, absence of toxicity and side effects. Laser therapy is successfully used as an additional method in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. The research results show that the use of laser therapy in the complex treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis can be justified, especially with low and moderate disease activity. In osteoarthritis, complex treatment using low-intensity laser radiation improves the clinical condition of patients, which is confirmed by reliable positive dynamics of a number of tests, and also leads to a decrease in the initially elevated serum glycosaminoglycan levels.
