The article examines the role of national parliaments in the field of human rights. It analyzes international human rights standards, including UN documents and those of other organizations, which emphasize the importance of the representative, legislative, oversight, budgetary, and international cooperation functions of parliaments. It concludes that these five functions form the foundation of the role of parliaments in the field of human rights.
