The paper attempts to identify the relationship between the structure and value of population income based on correlation analysis and construction of regression models using regional statistics. The results of the research made it possible to characterize the state of economic development of the regions in the political and economic aspect. In regions with a high per capita income, the production basis of the economy is modern technological structures in which human capital is effectively used, which ensures a high level of wages, ensuring an increase in the level of income of the population. Entrepreneurial activity in the country is currently ineffective and does not provide a high level of income for the population. Income from property plays a major role in regions with low incomes. The production and economic basis of the economy is outdated industrial technological structures in which traditional capital plays a key role. Social payments are currently not large and cannot provide a high level of income. In regions with low in-comes, it is necessary to implement programs to create modern industries and saturate regions with human capital of highly qualified specialists.
