INTERDISCIPLINARY INTERACTION
OF HUMAN GENETICS AND PHILOSOPHY
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The rapid development of genetics stimulates the study of many philosophical, ideological and methodological issues related to this science. Philosophy of science as a section of philosophical knowledge is increasingly entering into a dialogue with genetics, these branches of science have
an increasing mutual influence on each other. Scientific novelty in the philosophy of science
is expressed in the ability of the researcher to analyze the achievements of modern science
in the aspects of their ideological, methodological and socio-cultural significance. It is impossible not to notice the influence of genetic research on the relationship between the biological and
socio-cultural spheres in the study of consciousness, behavior, and human psychology. The results of genetic research and the use of the data obtained, primarily for medical purposes, pose new ideological and methodological challenges for philosophy as a science. Diagnostics and
the possibility of treating hereditary diseases create new questions about the worldview and morality, which philosophy, as a unifying science, must answer.
