THE EXISTENTIAL CHALLENGE OF MODERNITY: STRATEGIES
FOR MEANING GENERATION IN THE CONTEXT OF A VALUE CRISIS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The article is devoted to the analysis of the existential challenge faced by modern man in the context of rapid social transformations and the crisis of traditional value systems. The author considers
the feeling of confusion and loss of orientation as a direct projection of this challenge into individual consciousness. The philosophy of existentialism is proposed as a methodological key to overcoming this situation, in particular, its central thesis "existence precedes essence", which emphasizes
the freedom and responsibility of the individual in the process of active meaning generation.
The paper analyzes in detail practical strategies for gaining meaning: from taking personal responsibility and engaging in meaningful activities to forming an autonomous value system and building authentic interpersonal relationships. Special attention is paid to creativity as a form of active opposition to chaos and absurdity. In conclusion, the thesis is substantiated that the meaning of life is not a divinely given essence, but is the result of continuous personal choice, volitional effort and deep reflection, which ultimately allows one to lead a genuine existence and accept the challenge
of a meaningless world with dignity.
