Purpose. Patriotic education of young people in modern conditions is one of the key bases of national security, affecting the country's position in international relations, ensuring continuous communication and continuity of generations on the basis of traditional moral and ethical Russian values and language as a carrier of national mentality. In this regard, it is assumed that the state and civil society are in need of developing ways and methods of positive influence on the definition of the basic principles of patriotic education of young people. Methodology and methods. In the course of the study preparation, the methods of complex analysis of theoretical and practical materials devoted to the problems of the formation of worldview patriotism in the environment of the younger generation were used. The methodological basis was made up of the comparative-historical method, which allowed to determine the contours, essence and content of the moral and ethical attitudes of the younger generation at the current stage. Results. The article's materials reveal the objectives of implementing a policy aimed at shaping the worldview of young people as patriots and defenders of their homeland.
