Introduction. This article examines the critical role of nonverbal communication in intercultural interaction, where language proficiency does not guarantee complete mutual understanding. The relevance of this study stems from the need to reduce communication risks, as nonverbal behaviour is spontaneous and deeply rooted in cultural norms. The purpose of this article is to analyze the influence of nonverbal means on the success of intercultural interaction and mechanisms for overcoming emerging contradictions in the context of globalization. Methodology and methods. A literature review, communication audit, secondary analysis of empirical data, comparative analysis, and observation of learners' nonverbal behavior were used. Research results. The multifaceted functions of nonverbals (kinesics, oculesics, prosody, taketics, proxemics, olfaction, chronomics, and gustics) are revealed, subject to profound cultural differences. R. Lewis's theory of the dominance of national mentality over corporate values is confirmed. It has been shown that nonverbal errors lead to serious consequences in international business and education, while cultural ignorance distorts the perception of emotions. The novelty of this study lies in its empirical confirmation of the influence of cultural background on team behavior and its focus on the under-researched practical aspects of bridging the communication gap through nonverbal means, as well as the creation of a refined classification of nonverbal means. Practical significance. The results contribute to the development of "cultural literacy," "nonverbal tolerance," and cross-cultural adaptation, which are critical for minimizing risks and building effective dialogue in a global environment.
