In the Chinese paremiological worldview, old age is represented by proverbs and sayings, which are special texts that contain instructive and culturally significant information about the values and beliefs of different peoples. Traditionality is a fundamental characteristic of folk art, and in this aspect, paremies can be studied as unique clichés of the communicative worldview that contain culturally specific signs or codes. These codes, which form the language of culture, serve to structure and evaluate the surrounding reality. The comprehension of old age as a linguistic and sociocultural phenomenon that conveys a person's knowledge and understanding of the world is achieved through understanding the peculiarities of the Chinese communicative worldview and Chinese folklore, particularly proverbs and sayings that transmit the people's experience and cultural and historical traditions from generation to generation. The texts of paroemias with the component 老 年，老人 and 老 allow us to identify semantic groups that define the functional, value-based, and mythological characteristics of old age, as well as to identify the specific worldviews of Chinese speakers, Chinese culture, and communication that are verbalized in the texts of paroemias.
