The article deals with the organizational and methodological bases for the assessment of property of business structures, the legal framework lied as bases of the professional activities of appraisers, the sequence of the evaluation in accordance with the standards of appraisal activity, the direction and methods of its implementation. The conditions and restrictions are revealed that the appraisers govern in determining the varying value of the property, including the market value of objects. The list of basic requirements and standards governing valuation activities, allowing to perform complex sequential procedures for determining the value of the property is presented, the essence and content of the concept of market value are revealed, which determines the direction of its research and the selection of valuation methods depending on the intended purpose of the property owner.
