The article considers the potential application of non-woven fabrics as water-wicking materials in communal draining systems. The authors describe the wicking behavior of non-woven fabrics, consider the dependence of wicking behavior on the structure and fiber composition, identify the impact of fiber composition, filtering capacity and wicking behavior on the drainage capacity of non-woven geotextiles.

Производство нетканых материалов с каждым годом получает все большее развитие. Принципиально новые технологии, широкие возможности вовлечения в производство различных сырьевых ресурсов, в том числе непригодных для переработки по классическим текстильным технологиям, комбинирование материалов и технологий позволяет создавать нетканые материалы с новыми свойствами и использовать их в областях, где ранее текстиль вообще не применялся [4; 6].
