The article presents the research of correlation between orthoepic variants used by a speaker and his socio-demographic characteristics, obtained by means of native modern Russian speakers survey. The relationship between frequency of orthoepic variant choosing and gender and age of speakers was studied. The absence of gender differences in the choice of orthoepic variants was revealed, on the one hand, and the existence of a relationship between frequency of some variants and the age of respondent, on the other hand. The necessity of further comprehensive study of socially marked pronunciation variants in Russian language is highlighted.
