The article is devoted to the propaedeutics of the formation of cognitive universal educational activities among first-graders. The features of logical operations and information actions that are mastered by children in the process of working with a variety of mathematical material are characterized. It is considered as the most relevant for achieving the goal. Examples of tasks that a teacher can use in mathematics lessons in the first grade are given, adapting the degree of their complexity in accordance with the level of readiness of students.
