The article is devoted to the problem of professional training of modern teachers to work in the new conditions of the information society, which determine the development of new forms and methods of organizing pedagogical interaction. The criteria and indicators of the readiness of future teachers to use new social media in the educational process of the school are disclosed. The results of an empirical study aimed at identifying the level of formation of such readiness among modern students of pedagogical universities are presented. The necessity of organizing special conditions at the university to optimize the process of media education for future teachers has been established.
