The field of education is experiencing significant changes under the influence of various new technologies. Traditional methods of teaching mathematics in schools need to be updated due to the introduction of innovative solutions into the educational process that can increase the level of understanding and mastery of mathematics among schoolchildren. One of these solutions is the use of gaming methods in the educational process. The article analyzes various aspects of this topic, including the psychological and pedagogical foundations of game-based learning, and discusses specific examples of game-based methods and their impact on the educational process. Particular attention is paid to the concept of game education, methods of introducing game technologies, as well as an analysis of the problems and limitations that teachers and students face when applying these methods. The terms important for understanding the ideas of gamification are described in detail.
