The article is devoted to androgenic anabolic steroids (AAS), discusses their properties, classification, mechanisms of action and effects on the human body, in particular on the cardiovascular system. The possibilities and features of the use of AAS, both in medical practice and outside it, are also considered: the use of this group of drugs in athletes, both professionals and amateurs, as part of the training process. The analysis of the development of undesirable effects when using AAC, including a possible fatal outcome, is carried out.
