The characteristics of economic sustainability and the level of uncertainty and risk of processes in the fuel and energy complex form the basis of management decisions taken to ensure the energy security of the national economy. The main mission of the fuel and energy complex of the country is to ensure energy security, which allows for a level of protection of the population and business from the risk of resource shortages, including at the present time and from the standpoint of preserving them for future generations. The search for solutions to ensure protection is associated with the implementation of economic indicators for all options for possible undesirable situations and is associated with the types of resources used, the classification of which and the assessment indicators are presented in the article
