The article is based on the main ideas of the formation of meta-subject competencies of students in the context of the reform of modern education. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the tasks of some procedures for assessing the quality of geographical education; proposed recommendations for planning educational activities aimed at improving the quality of education.
