APPLICATION OF A SET OF NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING METHODS DURING THE REPAIR OF THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE OF A PASSENGER CAR
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
By applying nondestructive testing at various stages of the manufacturing process and repairing cars, it is possible to eliminate the cause of the defect in time, adjust the manufacturing process in case of equipment failure, and also find out cause-and-effect relations (factors) affecting the occurrence of defects, on which reliability and efficiency of further technical operation directly depend. At the same time, the downtime of transport is reduced in conditions of both production (during manufacture) and repair (in operation). The paper describes in detail a set of non-destructive testing methods that were used in the repair of an internal combustion engine of a passenger car and contributed to finding a hidden through defect in the form of a crack.
