The purpose of this study is public relations, where we focus primarily on the phenomenon of trust, which plays a significant role, as well as the reflection of such public relations in the systems of lawmaking and law enforcement to the extent that they regulate social interaction of individual and collective subjects. The authors of the article understand the subject of social interaction as a person, a social community, a social institution that simultaneously possesses three properties that distinguish it from social units that do not have subjectivity. The subject of social interaction: 1) sets goals; 2) has the resources and/or opportunities to achieve the goals; 3) carries out systematic activities to achieve the goals. In the phenomenon of trust in relation to the subject of social interaction, the authors of the article identify three main types: "trust in agreement", which is formed as a result of assessing the actions already committed by the subject of social interaction; "trust in expectation", which is the result of assessing the image of future actions of the subject of social interaction; "trust in activity", which is formed in a situation of joint activity of subjects of social interaction, during which they jointly define (or, at least, agree on) goals and priorities, manage resources, plan and implement specific actions to achieve the set goals. "Trust in activity", according to the authors of the article, is a form of trust that is most important for ensuring the sustainability of the legal system and maintaining public harmony, since it encourages all participants in such activity to maximum mutual awareness, good faith motives, and fulfillment of their obligations. The article considers possible areas for improving the legal regulation of social relations that are significant for the sustainable development of society and the state, in which trust is an essential factor.
