The article analyzes the youth work system in the context of socialization and social education of schoolchildren and students. In preparing the article, methods based on theoretical analysis of the 20 basic concepts of "social education" and "socialization", as well as scientific literature on the problem of organizing youth work were used. The author systematized and summarized the data of his own sociological surveys carried out within the framework of the implementation of the national grant funding of the scientific project AR 14869235 on the topic: "Youth work as a condition for successful socialization of student youth", and also described his own practical experience in organizing youth work for schoolchildren and students. Having summarized the most common positions of Russian scientists, the author's definition of social education and socio-pedagogical principles of organizing work with youth is given. It is shown on the basis of empirical data that socialization of the individual as a full integration of the young generation into the system of social relations does not occur spontaneously as a result of self-organization, it requires certain pedagogically justified efforts to create the necessary socio-cultural conditions and resource support (material and technical, personnel, spiritual, etc.). The system of youth work is considered as a technology for organizing the life and social education of the younger generation, which is an integral model of interacting components that allow young people to fully and conflict-free integrate into society. The author's model of the Center for Youth Initiatives as a body of self-organization and self-government of student youth in the sphere of implementing state youth policy is proposed, implemented in practice in the system of youth work of the Institute of Management in Astana.
