The relevance of the study is related to the influence of the theoretical and methodological foundations of inventory management on the effectiveness of the practice of implementing basic methods of inventory management in production and trading organizations of sports equipment. The purpose of the scientific article is to analyze the theoretical and methodological aspects of the formation of an inventory management system in an organization. The main tasks, methods and tools of inventory management in the organization are identified.
