The paper describes the basic concepts, directions and content ofmeta subject design and research activities in the general education system in the field of space monitoring of waste disposal facilities. The examples of project works of students are shown on the example of the Moscow school: main participants, tasks and content of works, reports at school conferences and competitions. An example of work in the framework of students' educational practice (in the system of higher education) is given.
