ABSTRACT

The article focuses on research into project work as a learner’s activity contributing to the development and refinement of his / her communicative competence. The author states that, besides improving a learner’s linguistic competence and promoting his/her involvement with the learning process, project work favourably affects both communication standards and, more broadly, social behavior through providing ample room for cooperation, empathy, creativity, and individual contribution. Thus, embracing project work and making it part of the foreign language teaching routine will ensure that learners acquire communicative competence at a level that meets current requirements.

Сфера образования на современном этапе проходит период больших изменений. Данные изменения носят инновационный характер, т.е. подразумевают процесс модернизации существующих педагогических технологий, методов, приемов, способов и средств обучения. В настоящее время инновационная педагогическая деятельность является одним из самых значимых составляющих образовательной деятельности любого уровня учебного заведения. Именно инновационная деятельность – это тот фундамент, на котором строится конкурентоспособность учреждения на рынке образовательных услуг. Инновационная деятельность неразделимо связана как с научно-методической работой педагогов, так и с учебно-исследовательской и научной практикой обучающихся. Под инновациями подразумевается владение знаниями последних научных исследований в области образования, существенные изменения в методах и технологиях преподавания, формах контроля качества обучения и т.д.

Разработка, апробация и внедрение в практическую деятельность передовых информационных технологий являются современными направлениями педагогики и методики обучения.
