Abstract (English):
The article examines the process of developing meaningful reading skills in primary school students in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Primary General Education and the Federal Educational Program of Primary General Education. Examples are given of the use of updated techniques and methods of teaching meaningful reading in the process of mastering the subject “Literary Reading” in the fourth grade of a comprehensive school.
