The development of a competency profile is one of the most important tasks in the context of implementing a personnel assessment system in modern competitive companies. A competency profile is a system of criteria that are used to assess the degree to which the actual competencies of candidates or current employees correspond to the level of development of the competencies of full-time employees required by the company. The article presents both an analysis of various approaches to the formation of a competency profile and considers methods of its application to improve the efficiency of personnel selection, development and motivation. Particular attention is paid to the integration of competency profiles into the processes of management and strategic planning of HR policy. Thus, the development of a competency profile of current employees contributes to the improvement of organizational policy and the adaptability of the company in a dynamic market.
