The article is devoted to the analysis of the process of formation of translation competence among philology students studying Russian language and literature in Georgian universities. Based on modern approaches to the professional training of philologists, the author considers the possibility of using A. S. Pushkin's poetic texts as an effective means of developing technological translation competence. Based on the comparative analysis of translations of Pushkin's poems and fairy tales into Georgian, the key methods of linguistic analysis are demonstrated: comparative, component, transformational and pragmatic.
