This article presents the results of a study of the functional state of the gonads of patients with liver cirrhosis. Results of the study showed a high prevalence of hypogonadism in men and giperestrogenemii, cirrhotic patients, compared with those of the control group. Also noted the influence of etiological factors and the severity of the disease on the metabolism of sex hormones in the patients studied.

Цирроз печени – серьезная медико-социальная проблема, обусловленная прогрессирующим ростом заболеваемости, ранней инвалидизацией трудоспособного населения, высокой фармако-экономической стоимостью лечения [1]. Прогрессирование синдрома портальной гипертензии и нарастание печеночно-клеточной недостаточности являются наиболее изученными осложнениями цирроза печени [1]. Значительно меньше данных по другим осложнениям цирроза печени, не угрожающим жизни больного, но влекущим за собой ряд последствий, таких, как импотенция и нарушение менструаций, регресс вторичных половых признаков, изменение минеральной плотности костной ткани и, как следствие, повышенный риск переломов, усугубляющих прогноз заболевания [2, 3, 4, 5]. К таким состояниям относятся различной степени выраженности нарушения функций половых желез, которые при циррозе печени мало изучены [6, 7, 8, 9].
