This academic article presents the findings of a two-year study on public perception regarding the ideal model of the school of the future. It identifies the most significant social demands for the development of the educational environment as expressed by various groups (teachers, students, and their parents). The author emphasizes that the state has set clear goals for education: strengthening family values, developing patriotic education, and promoting sports. However, in practice, a discrepancy emerges in certain aspects between the current reality and public expectations. The analysis of these social demands has made it possible to formulate legislative proposals in the field of education. These proposals include: accounting for the risks of digitalization and the competent application of new technologies; organizing round-the-clock educational institutions for working parents; optimizing and systematizing extracurricular and educational activities; reducing the administrative burden on teachers related to information processing and collection; and providing opportunities for in-person learning and experience exchange outside one's home region. The obtained results reveal the diversity of public expectations and open up prospects for further study and reform of Russian education.
