The article discusses the traditions of professional education in the Moscow cadet corps, in which not only trained future offi cers, but also gave students a broad civic education. Of particular importance in the educational system of cadet education was the professional ideal of an offi cer who was ready to serve for the good of the Fatherland, a true patriot. The historical traditions of Russian cadet education at the beginning of the 20th century are actively supported in schools of the Moscow Region. The article presents the experience of professional cadet education in one of the schools near Moscow, which is the academic testing experimental site of Academy of Public Administration.
