The article substantiates the importance of developing a safety culture among younger students. The parameters and criteria for assessing the formation of a safety culture, the results demonstrated by students during the survey conducted by the author are given. At the individual level, as well as at the levels of the educational organization, society, program-methodical and scientific-theoretical, the reasons for the insufficient formation of individual components of the safety culture among primary school students are considered.
