THE ROLE OF THE MODERN FAMILY IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PRIMARY SCHOOLCHILDREN AS A READER

Abstract (English):
The article examines the change in the attitude of parents of primary school children to reading that has occurred over the past ten years. A negative trend of a decrease in the number of parents who like to read and an increase in the number of those who do not like to read is recorded. The connection between parents’ attitude to reading and the level of reading literacy of their children, noted at the level of common sense, is confirmed by the results of the study. An analysis of factors influencing the traditions of family reading is conducted, and ways to preserve this most important type of activity are proposed.
