TECHNIQUES FOR TEACHING COMPREHENSIVE READING IN FOURTH-GRADE MATHEMATICS CLASSES

Abstract (English):
The article discusses the use of methodological techniques that help develop conscious reading of mathematical texts in primary school students when solving arithmetic problems. Methodological techniques of various types are described that allow successful implementation of text activities: formulating questions to a mathematical text, composing expressions for a given condition, comparing texts of problems (determining similarities, differences). The use of such techniques by a teacher in mathematics lessons in the fourth grades helps him to prevent difficulties in students’ work with the text of arithmetic problems.
