The article examines the necessity and possibility of using digital and AI technologies to increase students' motivation when studying a fiction text in a foreign language. That testifies to the relevance of the study. Students at non-linguistic universities usually underestimate the importance of such a course, traditionally called “home reading”. However, research demonstrates the communicative value of this aspect of language training, which enables students to develop reading, speaking, listening and writing skills. The aim of the study is to identify the possibilities of using the Moodle digital platform and neural networks to increase the motivation of students at an international relations university in the process of mastering a home reading course. In the course of the work, the personal-activity and text-centric approaches, methods of analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature on the topic of the article as well as included observation were used. The results of the study showed high efficiency of using blended learning technology with the placement of educational materials on the Moodle platform and the effectiveness of using neural networks to generate text material for exercises. Creative tasks in which students used neural networks significantly increased their interest in studying the play. The author concludes that intelligent use of modern digital tools helps to increase students' motivation in the home reading class.
