The aim of the study is to examine historical models of the organization of political power and power relations in the context of contemporary domestic political tradition and practice, with a view to identifying continuities and transformations. The relevance of the study is determined by the problem of power discourse during shifts in external and internal conditions, which serves as a central marker of the transformation of contemporary Russian politics, its investigation is necessary for understanding the mechanisms of legitimation, mobilization, and stability of the political system. The methodological basis of the work is a systematic combination of universal, general scientific, and discipline‑specific methods, which allows for a comprehensive and rigorous reconstruction of the genesis and the distinctive features of the formation of the scientific field of political power. Philosophical reflection sets the framework and logic, general scientific methods reveal patterns; and discipline‑specific methods explain mechanisms and concrete trajectories of transformation. The author concludes that contemporary Russia should independently formulate its own agenda across all key spheres – foreign policy, cultural, ideological, and economic. The theoretical and practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the generalizations produced in the work make it possible to most fully understand and clarify the complex of problems related to the historical aspects of Russian power in the world, refine the terminology, and provide a foundation for further research. The author also analyzed the development of a typology and a set of tools suitable for use in political research, education, and the preparation of practical recommendations for relevant organizations.
