The article discusses the main directions and methods of the information policy of the Russian state in the new territories. When describing information policy, a programmatic approach was used, according to which this policy is understood as a set of program documents, activities, methodological foundations containing certain value orientations, where the state acts as a subject of organization and coordination of the goals and values of information policy, as well as its implementation. The purpose of our research is to identify the main directions of the information policy of the Russian state in the new territories of the Russian Federation. The article uses a set of theoretical and empirical research methods. To analyze the specifics of the definition of "information policy", a systematic approach was used, which made it possible to identify the key characteristics of this concept. The methods of analysis and synthesis, as well as the logical method, were also used in the course of the research. The empirical basis of the work is based on the author's sociological research, consisting of 3 stages. At the first stage, Internet requests were analyzed in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions as the territories most susceptible to information attacks from non-Russian friendly states. The analysis revealed the predominance of Ukrainian nationalist information sources in the search engine, which requires government measures to limit hostile content. The second stage included a content analysis of the daily online publications Donetsk Worker, Life of Lugansk, Komsomolskaya Pravda-Kherson, Komsomolskaya Pravda: Zaporizhia. The results of the analysis revealed the largest number of publications devoted to political topics, which is extremely important for new territories located in the zone of border tension and experiencing significant influence from hostile political actors. The third stage of the study consisted of an expert survey in which 5 experts participated. When the information policy in the new territories was formed as a whole, experts noted certain shortcomings. In particular, the state communication agenda is most focused on the online environment and mainly affects the youth audience. At the same time, the influence of information messages in the offline space, through traditional mass media, on middle-aged and older citizens is less pronounced. According to experts, in order to increase the effectiveness of information policy in new territories, it is necessary to carry out a comprehensive analysis of target audiences and their information needs. In addition, it seems advisable to implement systematic monitoring of publication activity, regularly evaluate the effectiveness of information campaigns and take into account public feedback. Special attention should be paid to the qualitative characteristics of the disseminated information. In order to make it more accessible, understandable and attractive to residents of the regions, it is recommended to expand the practice of involving local actors in the preparation and dissemination of information materials. Additionally, it is advisable to consider the possibility of increasing the number of communication channels, as well as the amount of funding for regional and local mass media. The theoretical significance of the article consists in summarizing research on information policy and identifying its directions in the new territories of the Russian Federation. In the context of the information war with the West, the state creates content aimed at the early integration of these regions into the political field of our country, which corresponds to Russian strategic interests. The practical significance of the article lies in the study of the information agenda of the media in new territories, as well as in the assessment of the main directions of the formation and implementation of the information policy of the state. The article concludes that the information policy strategy, despite a number of problems in implementation due to the socio-economic situation of the region and proximity to the combat zone, is being implemented quite successfully and contributes to the integration of these regions into the Russian information field.
