The article considers the mechanism of using the corporate model of competencies in Russian Railways as one of the tools for implementing the mission and the company’s strategy. The succession of this competence model to the company’s brand values is given. The analysis of the system and the training process of the structural divisions of the holding company — Road management service and The Center for Evaluation, Monitoring of Staff and Youth Policy of Krasnoyarsk Railways as one of the spheres of application of the model in question, which revealed a gap in the functions of the management cycle “control-planning” and proposed measures to reduce the cost of additional training for key employees of the company on the example of the Krasnoyarsk railway.
