The purpose of this work is to study the formation of the Concept of sustainable development in the context of universal humanistic values. The research focuses on global social, environmental and economic issues that are currently undergoing transformation and are extremely important for humanity. Based on the use of analysis and synthesis methods, the author shows that humanism provides a fundamental value basis for the development of the concept of sustainable development. A detailed description of the measures that the international community is taking to implement the concept of sustainable development in the spirit of humanistic values is given. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the fact that it contributes to the elimination of gaps in the study of the role of humanistic values in different dimensions of sustainable development. If these gaps are minimized or, at best, eliminated, then based on the conducted research, new action plans can be developed for more effective implementation of the concept of sustainable development, which gives the article practical significance. Using two lines of argumentation – postmodernism and ethics of virtue – the author identifies the links between humanistic values and, on the one hand, the socio-ecological, and, on the other hand, the socio-economic dimension of sustainable development. Drawing attention to the challenges of modern globalized society and the new needs that have arisen as a result of this process, the author concludes that the concept of sustainable development can take on a more effective form in resolving global problems. Humanistic values play a key role in the field of economic, social, and environmental sustainable development. In a rapidly changing globalized society, their importance should increase in order to focus on improving the effectiveness of socio-economic and environmental sustainability. The noospheric breakthrough of mankind in the 21st century, as well as the active introduction of culture into the concept of sustainable development, are evidence of the search for the possibility of creating a concept of more sustainable and effective development. The concept under consideration should be based on the needs of modern society and neo-humanistic ideals and values. Concepts and ideas of sustainable development that appeal to humanistic values can be further positively implemented in the future.
